Transition Posts
Oxford Railing

Transition posts are used when you are going from a flat run of railing to a stair section. These posts are used for the Oxford style railing using routed posts. When using the bracket mounting system, all the posts are blank posts.

2x4stair-template.jpg (47825 bytes)The posts are all pre-routed to accept the top and bottom rails.  The routed holes must be elongated to allow for the rails to rack or pivot up or down at the post. (Click the image to the right for a close-up of the 2" x 4" stair template) It is important to order the proper post for the different transitions you may have to make.

Flat to stair corner post left - This post is used when you will be making a 90 turn to the left from a flat section to a stair section.

Flat to stair corner post right - This post is used when you will be making a 90 turn to the right from a flat section to a stair section.

Flat to stair line post - This post is used when transitioning from a flat run of railing to a stair railing.  The one side of routed holed will be elongated to allow the stair sections rails to slide into the post at an angle.
